INVITATION TO ATTEND CJSSS DEFENCE EVENTS
On the 1st October Lincolnshire goes live with CJSSS;
Simple Speedy Summary Justice
Experiences in the pilot areas have proven that the engagement of the Defence plays a vital
part in effective accomplishment of CJSSS. The Local Implementation Team has been
fortunate to have Defence involvement throughout. The Lincolnshire Local Scheme could not
have been achieved without their input.
If you are a member of the Defence community you are most welcome to attend one of the
following events in the Magistrates Courts:
SPALDING; TUESDAY 24'h JULY, 1 - 2pm
SKEGNESS; THURSDAY 26'h JULY at the COURTUSERMEETINGat 4pm
BOSTON; WEDNESDAY 1stAUGUST, 1 - 2pm
LINCOLN; FRIDAY 3'd AUGUST, 1 - 2pm
GRANTHAM; WEDNESDAY 15thAUGUST, 1 - 2pm
The implementation team will be available to talk about CJSSS, and to answer any questions.
Ught lunch will be provided.

The Carter Review

The Carter Review an independent review looking at new methods for procuring legal services with legal aid, began work on 5 July 2005 and is led by Lord Carter of Coles. The Review will report in early 2006. The Lincolnshire Law Society is working on a resoponse to the review which it will publish in the members section upon completion.
