The Lincolnshire Law Society was formed in 1886 and is now a Company Limited by guarantee and not having a share capital.
The Society was formed by a small group of solicitors practicing in the city of Lincoln, meeting in various public rooms, and then extended and expanded over the past 120 years to its present form.
The Society now has over 360 registered members, and is continually growing in size and activity. It is both regionally and nationally now regarded as one of the most involved, active, and forward thinking of the local law societies.
The core purposes of the Society are:-
The Society is governed by an elected Council, currently comprising of 15 members, covering a full geographic spread and representation of specialisms. Council members are elected, following proposal nominations, at the Annual General Meeting held in November each year. There are various sub committees of the Council who meet at other times to discuss and report on various aspects affecting the profession.
The office holders of the Council (President, Vice President, Honorary Secretary / Treasurer, Immediate Past President) form the executive body of the society.
The Council and Executive meet six times per year at pre-arranged, timetabled meetings.
The Society also employs a part time administrator, responsible for the day to day management of the society, to whom all initial communication should be addressed. (See ‘contact us’).
There are currently 15 members of Council. Officers of the Council are elected at the Annual General Meeting in November each year to be responsible as the executive of the society.

President - Mr Stuart Collingham (Lincoln)
Vice President - Mr David Rogerson (Newark)
Hon Sec/Treasurer - Mr Steven Hardy (Gainsborough)
Immediate Past President - Mr Jonathan Goolden
The Society also employs a part time administrator - Mr Martin Dolton, who works from the offices of Norman Green Solicitors, Skegness.
